Are You Looking For A Therapist Who Will Involve
Your Entire Being, Mind, Body and Spirit, in Your Healing Journey?
I love working with super brave and curious women who want to access the wisdom from all aspects of themselves, mind, body and spirit, to promote deep growth and healing. My approach to therapy involves integrating traditional talk therapy with mindfulness, meditation, breath work and gentle yoga. I believe that the symptoms of stress or strain that we experience are simply patterns our nervous systems have developed over time to keep us safe when circumstances were overwhelming. Together you and I will honor your nervous system’s efforts and offer gratitude for them, while at the same time, supporting it in letting go of patterns and responses that are no longer needed.
It’s been so exciting to watch neuroscience research catch up with and support what those of us who practice yoga and meditation have known for a long time – yoga and meditation practices promote nervous system regulation and healing, leading to improved health and well-being. My clients have found this combination of psychotherapy and yoga to be helpful for issues including:
- Depression and low mood
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma
- Grief and loss
- Adjustment to chronic illness & pain
- Insomnia
- Fertility and pregnancy loss
- Relationship transitions
- Caregiving support
- Personal growth and wellness
No yoga or meditation experience is required.
The types of movement, yoga and breathing approaches that we will explore together in your counseling sessions are gentle and restorative and can be modified for all bodies. Some clients prefer sessions primarily made up of gentle yoga and movement, others prefer mostly talk with some exploration of breath and mindfulness, while the majority enjoy some combination of these approaches. You as the client are always in charge of what we do and what you are comfortable exploring.
